EAT REAL food for a more Nutritionally You.

Food First Approach

Use food to help symptoms

Symptoms like fatigue, bloating, gas, constipation and brain fog are all indications of an imbalance in your system that can keep you from feeling the best. All of these symptoms can be mitigated through the food you eat. That is why I take a food first approach to help get your digestion functioning optimally so you get to feel better.

Holistic Nutrition

What is Bio-individual Nutrition?

Bio-individuality is the concept that there is not a one-size-fits-all when it comes to nutrition. Every individual is unique in biological makeup and in what is needed for your body to function optimally. There are several factors that influence your bio individual profile and gut health is one of them, this is where I focus.

Gut Health
&
HTMA Testing

Your diet has an important influence on your gut microbiome. With the help of a Hair Tissue Mineral Assessment (HTMA), we can see what is going on in your digestive system on a cellular level.

I have an autoimmune condition, so I started working with Venessa to learn more about methods to increase my health and overcome any flare ups. I knew a good bit about nutrition and supporting my body through eating clean whole foods but struggled with knowing what vitamins, minerals, and nutrients that I was missing to feel well. Through Venessa’s help I have learned more about what causes inflammation and how to become better equipped to balance my health with different types of foods, vitamins & minerals, and stress reducing tools. She gave me recommendations that were easy to apply and follow. As well as help me see how to recognize the inflammation triggers through reading food labels plus how to use food to increase my overall health instead of eating things that would trigger setbacks. My overall health has improved and the flare ups are decreasing with applying this knowledge.

I am a 47 year old male. Three years ago I noticed I was getting tired in the afternoon and sometimes I wanted to nap. Overall, my energy levels were down. I was not motivated to do much of anything. I thought maybe it was just aging and I tried a number of things from caffeine to testosterone with little to no results. In 2019, I had blood drawn for a Lipid Panel that was provided by my employer. It includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides. Unrelated to my Lipid Panel, about a year later, I began following Venessa’s guidance to clean up my diet. This year I had the same Lipid Panel done. When I sat down with my doctor we were both surprised to see all of my numbers had improved as I aged! My doctor told me very few of his patients show improved numbers as they age. While my diet will never be perfect, it has improved greatly along with my energy, motivation, and mental state. Having “check ins” with Venessa has helped me be accountable to myself. I have also found her to be very knowledgeable and supportive on this journey. Venessa has done a great job of helping me get to where I want to be. With her expertise and support I am looking forward to my next Lipid Panel and doctor chat.
